    I have the catalog that accompanies this exhibition. For the most part, the text is a transcript of this lecture. It is a pleasure to go over it slowly and appreciate the written word, delivered here with a subtle humor and emphasis, I didn't quite pick up on, but felt was there when reading.

    Maria Amalia married into the house of Savoy she was a sister of Marie Antoinette, who was another Austrian Archduchess. The House of Savoy was Sicily and Naples combined before Italy became a country. Then she became the Spanish Queen as Maria Amalia of Saxony. Historians please correct me. I only went to what used to be called Junior College.

    I’m wondering if the lacquer was also needed to keep the iron from rusting

    • @ShuajoX
      @ShuajoX 21 день тому

      Probably so. Japanese summers are super humid, and combined with that salty sea air, the iron plates would probably rust pretty quickly without proper maintenance if not for the lacquer.

    I have a print of hers entitled "rainy day" which was produced in 1953. I received it as a gift in 1968. I have no idea whether in fact it is rare or what it may be priced at or whether anyone would wish to purchase this print.

    Dr. Dolan. I have a random question. Victor Jorgensen is my great uncle. I never met him, but I found a framed print of a Battleship in my deceased fathers things. It is signed “ED Jorgensen”. I’m wondering if perhaps it is a Victor Jorgensen photograph. Do you know if he ever signed with the name “ED”?

One of my favorites was Baba was a Black Sheep by Mosely Wotta. The visuals were arresting and extremely nuanced. I could study it for hours. I am definitely going to visit the exhibit again!

    Just discovered this video when I’m trying to learn about Nabi movement. Still on introduction. I felt that I had to leave a comment before finishing the video because the presenter mentioned that she is “a white woman” the reason why this introduction court my eyes is that in today’s world where this political identity are used to dived humans into groups and subgroups. Only introducing yourself in terms of these political identities leaves you the individual out of the picture which is a deserve to art. In future when you the individual introduce yourself will you please go beyond this political Identities and tell your-audience who you think you are beyond whatever identity that the present power structures have made you believe you are. Thank you!!
